Mumbai: Yahoo India has decided not to freeze hiring and is expected to continue its recruitment plans as earlier. The specific numbers that the company is planning to hire is still unknown. Recently, Yahoo had laid off three percent of its total work force in India as a part of its cost-cutting drive in the wake of the global economic meltdown. Globally, the company has cut down its workforce by 10 percent. Gopal Krishna, Vice President and Head of Emerging Markets, Yahoo India said, “In India, the impact of recession was minimal and in the coming year, we will be focusing more on catering to the needs of the local market." The company was also working on exclusive pages for the metro market, which would serve the specific requirements of people living in the metros, he said. "The pages will serve as a dash board for the end-user and will be tailor-made to his needs," Krishna said.
