BANGALORE: Global software major Wipro Ltd has allotted 110,581 equity shares of 2 each under the employee stock option plan (ESOP). In a notification to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Friday, the company said the decision to allot the stock options was taken by the administrative committee of the board of directors. The company also informed the BSE that it had allotted 2,100 equity shares of 2 each to J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, its depository in the US, where Wipro's American Depository Shares (ADS) are listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The allotment to J.P. Morgan as underlying shares in rest of ADS will be issued and allocated to the company's overseas employees under its 2,000 ADS Stock Option Plan. The company's decision aims at checking the rising attrition rate.
