Wipro Infotech is the Indian IT firm of the Year 2009: Springboard

Bangalore: Springboard Research, an analyst and IT market research firm has chosen Wipro Infotech, the India and Middle East IT Business of Wipro Technologies has been named the "Indian IT Company of the Year". Its decision to choose Wipro Infotech is not only due to its revenue growth and client acquisitions, but also for its proactive push toward green technology. The report titled "India IT Market Predictions 2010," assigned awards for noteworthy dynamics in the India IT industry in 2009. The company has invested significantly in its green IT portfolio over the last year to focus on consulting, green data centers, carbon accounting, paperless administration, and freight management solutions. The company was able to record services growth of more than 40 percent in 2008-2009. Also, in October 2009, Wipro won a 10 year total outsourcing agreement from Delhi International Airport (DIAL) to provide IT Infrastructure and Services for Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), New Delhi. According to the company, it has managed built its capabilities rapidly in the domestic market to handle large complex infrastructure environments. Anand Sankaran, Senior Vice President and Business Head, India and Middle East Business of Wipro said, "We are happy to be named the Indian IT company of the Year. We have been focusing on the Indian market for a long time now and driving a high growth strategy here.
