Bangalore: Friends and enemies of Facebook are going to benefit alike from the most awaited IPO of the year, especially Divya Narendra, reports Ravi Teja Sharma of the ET Bureau.

If the Facebook IPO garners $100 billion, then Narendra will take home $18.7 million. He holds a 0.022 percent share, like the Winklevoss twins, in Facebook since 2008. In a special email interview with ET, Narendra said, "I will say that as a Facebook shareholder, I hope the IPO goes well, along with the company's fundamental operating performance." Narendra also quoted, "The lawsuit certainly gave me an early life lesson on the importance of understanding the law. The knowledge and network gained through both schools have also had a tangible impact on my entrepreneurial efforts."

We all are familiar with the backdrop of what seems to be the biggest dramatic event to have occurred at Harvard. The history and genesis of Facebook is wrapped in mystery and secrecy. One can only speculate as to what really must have happened. After all, no Oscar-winning movies are completely based on 100 percent facts. Still, what happened in the dorms and rooms of Harvard needs to be told, even if it is tinged with uncertainty and ambiguity.

Narendra is a New Yorker but his parents are of Indian origin. He is currently the CEO and co-founder of SumZero. He was also the co-founder of HarvardConnection, later renamed ConnectU, with his Harvard contemporaries, Tyler Winklevoss and Cameron Winklevoss. What started as a simple idea of keeping in touch with friends, turned out to be a life-changing event in the lives of these lads. Saying that they had anticipated the topsy-turvy accompanying their brain-child would be an over-statement. Still, most of the things have turned out to be in the favour of these Harvard grads, especially Narendra. With Narendra to earn almost $20 million from Facebook IPO, not all bad has resulted from the bitter relation with Facebook.
