'Web 2.0 is the technology of future'

Bangalore: Adobe India MD, Naresh Gupta said that India is en route to witness yet another tech boom and Web 2.0 is going to be the part of it. It is the technology of the future. Speaking at the WEB INNOVATION 2007 organized by Trade Fairs & Conferences International here on Tuesday, Gupta said, "While Web 1.0 focused on one way communication, Web 2.0 is about communities and conversations. Web 2.0 sites often feature a rich, user-friendly interface based on Ajax, Flex or similar rich media. It will also enhance the inactive network economy." Sem India MD, B.V.Naidu inaugurated the two-day conference. In his inaugural speech, Naidu said that the event is an attempt to bring various IT and software service domain companies and the quintessential end-user communities together under one roof to leverage the boom for the growth of the technology and understand the advantages, challenges, pitfalls and long term strategies to pass out with brilliant colours in this extremely challenging world of Web 2.0. TFCI CEO, Bal Tarakad said that through this event, the compnies are attempting to emulate the level of seriousness and pragmatic understanding that organizations already have in other parts of the world with respect to these domains. Delivering his views on what actually Web2.0 is all about, Times Internet Marketing Director Mohit Hira said that Web 2.0 signifies the power of collaborative, collective participation and is about creating communities for individuals.Here the consumer is the editor as well as the reader. In the first round table, panel of experts like Naresh Gupta, Mohit Hira, Krishnakumar Natarajan, President & CEO ,MindTree, Jaspreet Bindra, Country Manager, MSN India and Dr. T.R.Madan Mohan, Director -Consulting, Information Communication & Technology Practice, Frost & Sullivan shared their views on the technology. This event has also registered an overwhelming support from 16 online media companies such as The SmartTechie, ZDNet India and such others. The event witnessed more than 53 percent of the total participants from across the globe.
