VSNL Q2 net down 80%

MUMBAI: Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 48.7 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2003, as compared to Rs 245.90 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2002, a decrease of 80.19 per cent.
Total income has decreased from Rs 1,303.50 crore in the second quarter ended 2002, to Rs 821.80 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2003.
VSNL`s shares ended at Rs 124.35, up 2.35 per cent, over its previous close of Rs 121.50 on Wednesday, at the BSE today.
