Bangalore: Global information technology company Unisys has launched its new Unisys Converged Remote Infrastructure Management Suite service offering. The offering provides enterprises with a single, converged view of their IT infrastructure and the ability to monitor and manage the end-to-end environment. This innovative service delivery model can be rapidly deployed for an enterprise without having to change the underlying IT infrastructure and operations. With this, geographically dispersed enterprises with multiple platforms and service models, locations, and legacy systems can enjoy the benefits of a single monitoring and management system. This helps lower the client's cost of implementation and preserve its investment in existing IT infrastructure, while making it simpler for Unisys to tailor services to the client's specific requirements. Independent research and consulting firms such as Gartner and Alsbridge estimate that remote infrastructure management services can reduce enterprises' service costs by as much as 25 percent or more. Unisys believes that the Unisys Converged Remote Infrastructure Management Suite can provide savings in that range while significantly diminishing the risk to business operations from IT failures. The Unisys solution, acting as a 'manager of managers,' offers 'snap-on' technology interfaces that can be deployed across infrastructure segments (also known as towers) – such as network and security infrastructure – and service-providers' facilities, giving enterprises not only an end-to-end view, but also the ability to correlate the impact of events across the entities and orchestrate pre-emptive action against potential IT failures. Also, through correlation of events, the Unisys Converged Remote Infrastructure Management Suite can trigger defensive actions to prevent repeated incidents. It uses advanced analytics, problem and knowledge management capabilities conforming to the ITIL standard for service management, and advanced automation techniques for incident identification, diagnosis and service restoration across the IT infrastructure. "In a challenging global economy, enterprises need to make certain, more than ever, that their IT infrastructure is managed in the most efficient way possible to keep their employees as productive as possible," said Sam Gross, vice president, IT Outsourcing Solutions, Unisys. "They can't afford the price or the risk of the old 'mosaic management' approach to IT that addresses only one aspect of their infrastructure at a time and each in isolation. Drawing on Unisys expertise and global services delivery capabilities, the Unisys Converged Remote Infrastructure Management Suite provides an exceptional and holistic way to manage service events, restore services and resolve recurring incidents while simplifying operations and reducing costs," he added.
