Transcend unveils DDR3 modules with thermal sensor
Bangalore: Transcend, a storage and multimedia products manufacturer has launched a new range of server-grade DDR3 ECC DIMM and Registered DIMM premium memory modules, equipped with thermal sensor. The advancement in thermal monitoring technology can increase memory reliability, efficiency and overall system stability. "Thanks to the information provided by the thermal sensors of these modules, the memory load can be adjusted so as to provide high performance while protecting the modules from crash and burn scenarios, which can prove to be extremely costly for organizations," said Austin Huang, Regional Head - Sales, SAARC and APAC, Transcend. For high-end systems that constantly process huge amounts of data under non-stop operating conditions, CPU speed regulation and various other methods to prevent overheating have become increasingly important in hardware design. The thermal sensor will allow motherboard chipsets to monitor the exact temperature of each memory module and adjust the memory load accordingly. Each Transcend memory module undergoes rigorous testing and comes with a three-year warranty and the support of Transcend's global service network.
