Tony Gasson joins WebEx as VP and GM Europe

SAN JOSE: Subrah Iyer led WebEx Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBX), Tuesday announced that is has expanded its European management team with the addition of communications services veteran, Tony Gasson as the vice president and general manager of Europe. Gasson has over 18 years of management experience with conferencing and enterprise IT companies including eight years at PictureTel and its subsidiaries 1414c and Starlight Networks. As a director of Europe for PictureTel, Gasson played a key role in building direct sales, distribution relationships and reseller programs, growing the business to more than $50 million annually. In 1999, Gasson became vice president and general manager of PictureTel subsidiary 1414c, a Web conferencing portal, and vice president of sales at PictureTel acquisition Starlight Networks, a provider of streaming video software, creating their European direct and indirect sales programs. "Tony has played a critical role in the development of Europe's Web communications market and we are proud to have him join WebEx," said Subrah Iyar, chairman and CEO of WebEx Communications.
