Bangalore: Terremark, a datacenter services provider, has purchased another 27 acres of land for $5 million adjacent to its third datacenter at Culpeper, Va., complex. There will be at least 250,000 sq ft of datacenter space and about 100,000 sq ft of office space at the NAP (Network Access Point) of the Capital Region in the new land, the company said. According to Manuel Medina, CEO of Terremark, acquiring the land adjacent to the existing campus was a vital step in securing their position to continue meeting the strong demand for Terremark's services. The property, as it was before the new land acquisition, could accommodate five 50,000 sq ft datacenters. With 65 percent of leased data center space at the campus, the campus also has a 72,000 sq ft administrative building. Terremark, which has datacenters in Miami, Texas and California, provides colocation, hosting, disaster recovery and cloud-based services at NAP of the Capital Regions and its other sites.
