Telecom Italia Selects SonicWALL Solution

SUNNYVALE: SonicWALL, Inc. (Nasdaq:SNWL), Tuesday announced that Telecom Italia S.p.A., the largest Italian telecommunications network, has purchased SonicWALL's complete wireless solution to bring a managed wireless security service to small and medium networks throughout Italy.
The new service, dubbed Small Office Wireless (SO Wireless) is Telecom Italia's first wireless security service to be managed directly by its Security Management Center (SMC).
Telecom Italia's comprehensive wireless solution comprises the SonicWALL SOHO TZW for secure, wireless access using IPSec Virtual Private Network (VPN) over Wi-Fi connections; SonicWALL Long Range Wireless Cards, providing transmit power and receive sensitivity significantly greater than standard wireless cards; SonicWALL's Global Management System (GMS) to deploy and manage all of the SOHO TZW appliances on the network from a central location; and SonicWALL Complete Anti-Virus.

"SonicWALL's advanced wireless security solution with remote management and distributed policy enforcement allows Telecom Italia to manage our customers' wireless security platforms easily and to implement advanced services like anti-virus and content filtering."
The SO Wireless service complements Telecom Italia's complete Full Business Security Offer, a broad range of services designed to protect a company's applications and information systems. SO Wireless solutions give companies with small- and medium-sized networks a comprehensive and reliable service solution that provides both the flexibility of wireless connectivity and the confidence of safe and secure network access.
