TCS veteran Arup Gupta joins Polaris as COO

CHANNAI: Arup Gupta, a 25 year old Tata Consultancy Services executive and President North America has joined Polaris Software Labs as President and Chief Operating Officer. Gupta had successfully re-created a fivefold growth in a five-year time span for the TCS and will be responsible for Polaris’ global operations, delivery and sales functions. “I was looking for a little more challenging role and a strong desire to be outside TCS and Polaris gave me the right opportunity,” Gupta said adding his contribution to Polaris would be on building customer relationship and in taking the value and offerings from Polaris to customers. While Polaris Chairman and CEO, Arun Jain takes over as the chief architect of the firm. He said “Polaris now had the right product and reference sites and it was time to focus on execution which would be taken care of by Gupta.” “We now have a strategy that would take Polaris to $1 billion in revenues comfortably. This could happen in two, three, four or seven years,” Jain said.
