Mumbai: Software exporter Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has decided to pay 150 percent of the quarterly component of the variable pay for the second quarter to its India-based employees. At TCS, employees' compensation has two components - fixed and variable. And, variable pay accounts for 20-35 percent of TCS employees' gross salary. "About 4-5 quarters back we had a cut in the variable payout. This move of paying 150 percent of the quarterly component of variable pay is in line with our performance-driven culture," said N. Chandrasekarana, Chief Executive Officer and MD, TCS. Also, the overall attrition rate at TCS stood at 11.4 percent. This includes 10.8 percent attrition rate in the IT services business and 18 percent attrition in BPO. The utilisation rate, excluding trainees, stood at 79.5 percent.
