TCS cuts staff travel, recalls onsite employees
Hyderabad: As its recent retrenchment measures, Indian software giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is cutting down on its employees' traveling plans. It is also recalling its onsite employees to cut down on expenses. "We are avoiding travel, using telephone and telephonic conversations, web casting. All these have increased internally," said TCS Executive Vice-President Kesav Nori. The company is recalling its onsite employees offshore and is relentlessly heaving up employee utility. "There is also great emphasis on making people more productive," Nori said. Nori maintains that the cost cutting measures will have no impact on the offers made during the campus placements. The appointments will be staggered because the new recruiters will have to join TCS training facilities. "TCS do not make people unemployed, but it wants everybody to become more productive," he said.
