Syntel to invest 90 crores, recruit 1500

CHENNAI:US based Information Technology firm Syntel Inc will invest Rs 90 crore on capital expenditure in India and will recruit about 1500 employees in India. Syntel Chief Operating Officer Keshav Murugesh said the planned expenditure and recruitment of professional would be for its centers in Chennai, Mumbai and Pune. In the last six months, the Nasdaq-listed $197 M company has spent 55 crore on capex in India including the construction of a campus in Pune. The Pune campus will have capacity for about 9,000 people, he said. Murgesh also revealed that Syntel has recently formed a joint venture with a US bank to offer business process outsourcing services for the bank.
