BANGALORE: Subex Systems Limited, announced Wednesday that it has won an order for its INcharge Revenue Assurance Solution, from RPG Cellular. INcharge will be deployed in RPG Cellular's Chennai network. INcharge is a part of the RevMax Revenue Maximization suite. Subex's flagship Ranger Fraud Management System has already been deployed in RPG Cellular's network. RPG Cellular is part of the 6500 Crore RPG group. RPG has an established presence in all services including Cellular, Paging, V-SAT and E-mail and has tie-ups with world leaders like NTT and Itochu Corp. of Japan, Star Paging of Hongkong and Sprint of USA. RPG Cellular Services Ltd. is promoted by the RPG group in association with one of the largest GSM cellular operators in the world, Vodafone. RPG Cellular started commercial operations in the Chennai metro circle in 1995. It launched the prepaid service 'Wings Prepaid' in 1998. An average of industry estimates indicate that losses due to revenue leakages amount to 8% to 10% of total revenues, sometimes reaching as high as 15%. Revenue leakage in a carrier's network can occur at any point in the billing chain. Errors and mismatches across switches, inventory, provisioning, mediation, rating and billing systems result in revenue losses from incorrect billing, unused assets and unbilled usage, among other issues. In addition, increasing competition in telecommunications markets and emergence of a growing number of new services has led to a substantial increase in interconnection traffic. Revenue leakage in the network, rating and billing systems have left carriers with plenty of room for significant losses due to overpaying or under-billing for interconnect traffic. Subex Systems INcharge Revenue Assurance Solution is the most comprehensive, automated solution available today that helps carriers resolve revenue loss and cost overruns in their network by identifying, quantifying and rectifying the sources of leakage across the revenue chain. INcharge's flexible modules are designed to identify and quantify issues such as unbilled or incorrectly billed usage, discrepancies between multiple OSS, erroneous system configurations and setup, in order to provide carriers with an overall view into the revenue leaks that are occurring within the network. INcharge captures data from a wide variety of sources like network, SS7, inventory, provisioning, mediation, billing and reconciles them in order to pinpoint revenue leaks. INcharge also contains a powerful and customizable rating engine that is used to attach financial indicators to the identified discrepancies. Commenting on the new order for INcharge, Subex's President and CEO, Subash Menon said, "After the global success of Ranger FMS, Subex's Incharge has generated tremendous interest amongst Subex's existing customers. RPG Cellular is the first among them to go for this innovative Revenue Assurance Solution". Subex's global clientele includes AmericaTel, Global Crossing, Sprint and Teleglobe in North America; Sonatel Mobiles, Sonatel Wireline, Cora, Ikatel and Econet Wireless in Africa; Cosmorom, Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (CYTA) and MobiFon in Europe; BPL Mobile, Bharti Cllular, Escotel, Hutch, Idea Cellular, DTAC Thailand and MTN Sri Lanka in Asia Pacific, among others.
