Mumbai: As a reversal of the trend in the social networking scenario, women members are increasingly joining these sites, especially from countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Nepal, apart from U.S., UK, UAE and European nations. There has been a 25 percent jump by women on sites like bigadda.com. Concerns of women range from security issues to the kind of freedom that the site offers for sharing ideas, thoughts, photos and videos. Another factor that accounts for the current trend is that of user's experience. The common thread of culture that Asians across the world share in terms of attitudes, choices, cultures, likes and views on current topics are a binding factor. Siddhartha Roy, COO, Bigadda.com said, "The trend of women users from Asian countries is likely to grow, as Internet access improves and women find a sense of freedom in airing their views, connecting up with people."
