Chennai: SlashSupport, the offshore tech support company of the San Jose headquartered CSS Group, has created a separate brand, ManageInfra, for its Remote Infrastructure Management (IM) business in a multi-year agreement. ManageInfra will ramp up services for Blackboard Inc., a leading US-based provider of enterprise software and related services to the education industry, from its Chennai facility. SlashSupport has been offering remote infrastructure management service to Blackboard for more than a year and handles more than 95 percent of its current system alerts and client notifications. As part of the expanded engagement, ManageInfra will now provide IT infrastructure system upgrades and patches for Blackboard technology, in addition to the above offerings. SlashSupport is the only offshore partner for IM services and this is an exclusive arrangement with the Blackboard. The company's RIM business contributes about 6 percent to 7 percent of its overall revenues. It has an employee strength of 3,000 people and four offshore facilities in Chennai. "Blackboard is a renowned ASP leader in the education space, and we are excited to be their 'technology and operations support' partner while they continue to focus on growing their ASP hosting business. Blackboard expanding their relationship with us is a further recognition of our growing strength in the RIM space," Shiva Ramani, Chief Executive Officer SlashSupport, said. "Blackboard's technology solutions are mission critical applications for all our client institutions, and it is absolutely critical that we deliver consistent and superior quality service to our hosted clients on 24x7 basis," Jay Robertston, Vice-President ASP services, said. "We looked to ManageInfra to supplement our global infrastructure management and operations team and they are now an important and critical part of all our service delivery activities," Robertston added. Blackboard's product line consists of five software applications bundled in two suites, the Blackboard Academic Suite(TM) and the Blackboard Commerce Suite. Its clients are colleges, universities, schools and other education providers, as well as textbook publishers and student-focused merchants that serve education providers and their students. ManageInfra provides remote application and infrastructure management services directly to enterprise organizations and monitors databases and storage systems remotely and has an established technical support competency in Open Source solutions.
