Six Indian companies bag iCMG Architecture Excellence Awards

Bangalore: Six Indian companies among the 21 award winners bagged iCMG Architecture Excellence Awards 2010 which was held in Bangalore on July 27, 2010. The awardees were selected from more than 100 nominations for the three different categories - technical, business and enterprise.

Sunil Dutt Jha, Chief Architect and CEO, iCMG said, "The idea behind Architecture Excellence Awards is to honor architects and enterprises whose work demonstrates a combination of talent, vision and workmanship which are creating successful and enduring systems & enterprises. The internal awards will be awarded each year to architects and organizations for significant achievements during the iCMG Architecture World Conference."

Tata Motors bagged the 'Best IT Service Management award', Evolvus India in the 'Startup' category and Aircel and MTS shared the 'growing business in new territory or new service offering' award. The best 'Business Process Management' award was shared by Reliance Life Insurance and ITC Infotech and the 'iCMG Hall of Fame' award was shared by the internationally acclaimed author, Thomas Mobray and Rajeev Batra, CIO at MTS India.

The other award winners were from different parts of the world, the aspect that made the event truly international. Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, UAE; Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai and Flexigroup, Australia shared the award in the SOA Vision for Enterprise category. The 'Future IT' award was shared by Intel Corporation, USA and SAP AG, Germany. The rest of the award winners are National Aids Control Council (Best Open Source Technologies); Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, UAE (Best IS Security Architecture); Energy Market Company, Singapore (Best Customer Oriented Business Models); ABSA Bank, South Africa (Best Acquisition and Mergers); Defence Science and Technology Agency, Singapore and Baker Hughes, USA (Best Transformation and Planning); Corporate Express, Australia (Best Green Architecture); Ministry of Education, Singapore and Westminister City Council, UK (Best Architecture Governance).

The jury members consisted of a group of eminent personalities with years of experience in managing complex IT systems and enterprises like Steve Towers, Author, Founder and CEO, BP Group; Manoj Srivastava, Vice President, Group IT; Johan de Wit, CEO, Nuphar BV Cummins; Sunil Dutt Jha, CEO, iCMG and many more.

Appreciating the award winners, John Zachman, the global guru and father of Enterprise Architecture said, "Though the idea of enterprise architecture was seeded nearly 30 years back, only recently we find that there is growing acceptance and demand for this discipline. The Architecture Excellence Awards is a great stride forward for enterprise architects with iCMG bringing international recognition for their valuable contribution to business performance."
