Sensex crosses 14,000-point mark

Mumbai: Indian share markets reached another landmark on Tuesday as the sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) crossed the 14,000-point mark for the first time ever. The 30-share Sensex gained 154.14 points within first five minutes of trading in the morning and crossed the historic level at 14,028.47 points - just 26 days after it had breached the 13,000-point mark Oct 30. The barometer index had crossed the 10,000-point mark Feb 6 and has gained a whopping 58.24 points in the past 52 weeks. Similarly, the broader Nifty of the National Stock Exchange also gained 32.20 to cross the 4,000-point mark.
