Satyam gets $150 M worth orders

MUMBAI: Satyam Computer Services Ltd has got orders worth $150 million from Hewlett Packard Co (HP) and Capgemini, a senior official of Satyam said. He said the work were sub-contracts from the outsourcing orders worth $700 million and $500 million won by HP and Capgemini respectively from General Motors on Thursday. "It is system integration work," he said. "The revenues are likely to be spread evenly over five years." GM had given contracts worth a total of $7.5 billion. Electronic Data Systems snatched the lion's share of $3.8 billion, while International Business Machines Corp. got $500 million and India's Wipro Ltd. bagged $300 million. At 0830 GMT, shares in Satyam were up 0.2 percent at $16.49 in a weak Mumbai market.
