New Delhi: Global consumer durables and electronics major Samsung Wednesday showcased its product portfolio for 2011 across categories like television, smartphones, notebooks and home appliances and said that it expected India's contribution in its global sales to rise. "We have the potential to reach No. 1 market share in numerous categories while strengthening our partner and channel relationships, particularly in a country like India where markets are maturing and the potential for growth is unlimited," said Jung Soo Shin, president of Samsung Electronics (Southwest Asia), at the company's inaugural Southwest Asia Regional Forum here. "We have a sales target of $200 billion by 2013, of which we hope India will contribute five percent," Shin later told a select group of senior journalists. Samsung launched re-designed models of its flagship LED televisions - the Samsung D8000 and D7000 LED TVs, which virtually eliminate the traditional TV frame with an ultra-narrow front panel, providing extra screen size without increasing the outside dimensions of the set. Among other products on display were Blu-ray home theater system HT-D5550WKm which supports full HD 1080p video playback for both Blu-ray and standard DVDs. The system also has a video processor to convert 2D content to 3D. Also, soon to hit the markets will be a new class of Android-based smartphones and tablets under its Galaxy product line. Among home appliances, the company showcased a refrigerator designed by world-renowned jewellery designer Massimo Zucchi and washing machines with the latest wobble technology.
