Trinity Convergence has announced the appointment of Salim A. L. Bhatia as chairman and CEO. The announcement follows Trinity's recent $4.5 million Series B funding.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C: In this role, Bhatia will help drive OEM adoption of integrated VoIP enabling software and manage the company's emergence as a market leader. "The transition to packet telephony is happening," Bhatia said. "To be successful, OEMs can't depend on legacy piecemeal approaches of sourcing and integrating software components themselves. Trinity Convergence's engineers have created the most comprehensive and integrated VoIP enabling software, allowing OEMs to eliminate potentially years in development time and millions of dollars in cost. As VoIP proliferates in enterprise and carrier networks, Trinity is poised to emerge as the market leader and standards bearer." Throughout his career, Bhatia has created companies that led their markets in emerging telecommunications and other technologies. Most recently, he served as chairman, president and CEO of MindLever, helping transform the eLearning start-up into a market and thought leader. Previously, he co-founded and served as president and CEO of BroadBand Technologies, a firm that pioneered broadband in the local access network. At Siecor Corp., where he held a variety of senior management positions, Bhatia drove the first deployments of fiber optic cable in telecommunications networks. Jeff Critser, Trinity co-founder and former CEO, is now executive vice president for business development, responsible for expanding and strengthening the company's strategic partnerships. "Salim's appointment as CEO is a very strong move for Trinity," stated Critser. "He has the talent and experience to guide the company to the next level, and the entire management team is excited to have him aboard."
