SITmobile's new office at Kochi to generate 100 jobs

Kochi: Spain based IT company SITmobile, has opened its development and production center at the Infopark in Kakkanad near Kochi. The branch expects to provide employment to around 100 people in the technical field. "By opening the new office in India, we plan to have a stronger presence in Asian and Middle East telecom markets," said Enric Sole, CEO, SITmobile. The company selected Kochi as the location for their Indian office considering the availability of highly skilled technical resources and good facilities provided by institutions like Infopark. The office will start with 20 employees, but the company will increase the number to 100 within six months, said Jolly Kannarathil, company's India Operations Managing Director. Commenting on the launch in Kerela, Cesar Alba, Consul General of Spain in India maintained that the state always had a good educative background. Alba pinpoints that Spain had started investing in Central America and South America in the last 20 years, with $120 billion in the last ten years only in South America.
