New Delhi: Unidentified armed robbers Monday looted 250,000 in cash from a Delhi bank that had no security system or a guard for protection, the police said. The police were clueless about the culprits who conducted the heist around 3.30 p.m. in the UCO Bank branch in the busy market place of Sheikh Sarai, south Delhi. "There was no CCTV and no security guard posted at the bank," said a police officer. The robbers, the police said, immediately disappeared on their black motorcycle after committing the crime within a few minutes. The police quoted an eyewitness as saying: "One of the (robbers) wearing a helmet stood outside close to the gate while the other entered in without any mask on his face. He went to the cashier, pointed a gun and asked him to shell out the cash." The cashier, the police said, sounded an alarm also creating a panic among a dozen odd employees and many customers. The robber fired at Jitendra, 30, a bank employee, injuring him. He was admitted at the AIIMS Trauma Centre. The police said the robbers ran away with a cash amounting 250,000.
