Reliance reduces STD call rates

NEW DELHI: Reliance Communications on Monday announced a new tariff for its fixed wireless subscribers, under which it will charge local call rate of 40 paise per minute for a phone call among 18 state capitals besides national capital Delhi. Under the 'Hello Capital' plan, a Reliance fixed wireless customer will be able to make a call at a tariff of Rs 1.30 per three minute for a call to another Reliance fixed wireless phone (FWP) in any of the other 18 state capitals. Giving out the details, Reliance Communication president (wireless business) S P Shukla said an individual from Delhi could make call to Mumbai, Chennai, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata and many more capital cities at local rates. "It is the death of long distance tariff and is applicable to both post and pre-paid tarrif plans," he said.
