Rajasthan can attract trillion-dollar investments: Pilot
New Delhi: Rajasthan has the potential to attract trillion-dollar investments and become the number one state in India, Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Sachin Pilot said. "The state is looking forward to the opportunities emerging out of the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor which covers around 14 districts of Rajasthan, and would enhance its economic development," said Pilot during the release of Rajasthan's state profile by industry lobby PHD Chamber. "The congenial governance in Rajasthan sets it apart from the other states and goes a long way in attracting foreign investors, complementing the state's growth and helping it establish itself as one of the leading economies of India," Pilot added. According to the minister, the primary requirement for economic development would be road, rail and air transport, all of which is being worked upon by the state government. Agreements for two airports have been signed and these are to be built soon. Stressing the enormous potential of solar power generation in the state, Pilot said: "We aim to develop the state as a hub of solar energy and efforts are being made to put in place three super critical power plants in the near future."
