Progress Software, IIIT Hyderabad sign MoU

Hyderabad: Ramesh Loganathan, Managing Director, Progress Software and Dr. Rajeev Sangal, Director, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide the industry framework for technology at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) lab of IIIT-H. "The commitment and support extended by Progress Software to academic entrepreneurship moves us a step closer towards developing ideas and converting them into technologies suitable for businesses and society. The confidence of industry in a young research institute like ours, lies in our capability to accommodate enterprise development, a logical extension to primary roles of education and intellectual discovery," Dr. Sangal said. "The objective of Progress Software's MoU with IIIT-H is to build industry-academia relationship and provide student entrepreneurs and upcoming developers a platform for gearing up to the challenges of the Hi-tech world," said Peter Sliwkowski, Vice-President, Products, and Member, e-team. As envisaged by the MoU, Progress Software will be responsible for setting up the hardware, providing developer software licenses and offer assistance for products developed within the CIE lab, on Progress Software's platform. The students will receive lectures and technological talks on middleware and integration space by senior personnel from Progress Software and can also take up summer internship projects at Progress Software.
