HYDERABAD: Pramati Technologies, a developer of Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) application server technology, has signed up MicroWay, the largest distributor of software development tools in Australia, to resell Pramati development tools and application servers in the region. This strategic alliance will enable Pramati to make foray into the Australian market by tapping into Microway’s growing network of resellers and customer base of over 20,000 developers, the company claimed. Under the agreement, MicroWay will be an exclusive distributor for Pramati Server and Pramati Studio in Australia. Apart from offering the most cost-effective Java application server, MicroWay will also offer first level support to its enterprise customers and vast developers network. MicroWay will also be representing Pramati in major Australian IT events. "This tie-up with MicroWay shows our commitment towards strengthening our global channel and reseller network," said K V Sathyanarayanan, vice president sales, Pramati. "The Asia-Pacific has been one of our key focus areas this year and we are confident that this partnership will go a long way into establishing our position as a leading provider of application server and development tools in the Australian continent." Pramati has already expanded its channel base into more than 20 countries, and is working towards increasing its reseller partners worldwide to over a 1,000 by the end of this year. Some recent global partnerships include Netran, South Korea; Ideal Business, Spain; Logon International, Hong Kong and South China, SoftChoice, US and Canada and Tier-2 Consulting (UK). "We're excited about the Pramati relationship as it enables us to provide Australian customers with a high-quality and cost-effective Java Application Server," said David Looke, managing director, MicroWay. "Pramati's adherence to J2EE standards is second to none and their products provide an excellent, low-cost alternative to the leading platforms from BEA, IBM and others."
