NEW DELHI: Consumer goods major Royal Philips Electronics has decided to stop manufacturing front projectors and instead focus on creative display systems with special focus on growth in China and India. "It is the intention of Philips to stop direct production of front projectors in the third quarter of this year," the company stated Thursday. To meet customers' demand for projection equipment, the company has decided to reorganise its "creative display systems (CDS) business in the region to continue supply of products to customers from its supplier factory in China". Philips will evaluate the feasibility of transiting from a branded business to an original equipment manufacturer business model, it said. "Philips CDS business intends to focus its resources in selected growth markets and channels, where sales and marketing resources will continue to be in place. The focus markets are China and India, in the business-to-business channels," the company added.
