Patni Computer Q4 profit lower at $13.7 Million

Mumbai: Patni Computer Systems posted a profit after taxation of Rs 68.66 crore ($13.7 million) for the quarter ended December 31, 2008 as against Rs 85.90 crore for the same quarter of last fiscal. Total income has increased to Rs 453.20 crore from Rs 328.47 crore for the corresponding period in 2007.
For the year ended December 31, 2008, the company recorded a net profit of Rs 389.15 crore as against Rs 387.52 crore in fiscal year 2007. Total income in 2008 was higher at Rs 1,649.87 crore as compared with Rs 1,249.63 crore during the financial year 2007. The board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 3/- per share i.e. 150 percent for the year 2008.
On a calendar year basis, the company's top client contribution towards revenue declined to 10.7 percent during 2008 from 11.8 percent in 2007.
