Bangalore: The popularity of app stores looks to soar by each passing day. The news that cements the belief further is Nokia's Ovi Store recording three million downloads daily. This rise in downloads is attributed to the Symbian upgrade that Nokia's smartphones received such as the Nokia E7 or the Nokia N8. The upgrade has lent greater access to popular apps and games in the Store. Also Forum Nokia has seen 400,000 developers register themselves in the past 12 months. This has led to boost in downloads and creation of newer apps on the platform. Nokia's Qt SDK has enabled creation of apps for the recent Nokia phones like the E7, N8 or C7. The smartphones running on the upgraded Symbian OS have begun shipping already. This is one more reason for hoping that the surge in downloads will continue.
