Mumbai: The Oberoi group's Trident Hotel here, which was one of the 10 places in India's commercial capital targeted by terrorists last week, is set to reopen Dec 21, the company said Thursday. "The hotel will reopen about three weeks after it sustained damage during the terrorist attacks in Mumbai on Nov 26," said the Oberoi group, referring to the downtown property. "When the hotel reopens, enhanced security will be in place to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and staff. The local law enforcement agencies have also been requested to extend all assistance," said the statement. "A round-the-clock effort is underway by the management and staff to ensure that the hotel is ready to receive guests." The group has two adjacent hotels in the premises - the Trident and the Oberoi. The latter suffered more damages and the management is still to ascertain when it will reopen. As many as 316 guests from the Trident and 135 guests from the Oberoi were evacuated following the attack since the 60-hour terror strike began the Nov 26 night. But four resident guests, another 18 visitors dining in the restaurants and 10 staff members lost their lives, the management said.
