Bangalore: Google has launched the new version of Google Docs for Android and iOS based devices and will be made available over the next few days. The latest edition enables users of these devices to edit documents from their mobile browsers itself. Earlier they were confined to only opening and viewing of such documents. The initial roll out will be only for English language users. Apart from that, you can update and share your Google Spreadsheets with other users. Google had launched the mobile Docs viewer in June this year. Devices running on Android 2.2 or higher and iOS 3.0 higher can access Google Docs and edit them from their in-device web browsers. You can reach the Google Docs mobile site by going to doc.google.com. While the editing features can be found once you open a document and click on the 'Edit' tab on the navigation panel. The editing features include in-line text editing and the ability to make changes to tables. Users of Android devices can enter text by spoken dictation. However, it is not clear if users can add special characters or change formatting and insert comments and tables.
