Now, datacenter technology in Disney Fun Park

Bangalore: IBM in conjunction with Disney have launched a display showcasing an energy efficient datacenter which is being displayed in IBM's SmarterPlanet Exhibit, reports The Datacenter Journal.

IBM has taken this campaign and extended into the place that millions of visitors young and old come to enjoy and relax. On display at the exhibit is the modular datacenter from IBM and since the computing power of this datacenter far exceeds the computing power required to run the exhibit, the remaining computing power is not being wasted but will be given free of charge to the World Computing Grid where it would be used for humanitarian and social causes such as medical research, environmental studies and so forth

Another technology by the name of Cloudburst is also on display and this can be used by customers to develop and deploy cloud computing solutions in a fast track manner. Smarter Planet is a campaign by IBM where they tend to demonstrate that most physical systems can be made to perform better with little more automation.
