Now a Postcard of Mahatma With Corruption King Koda !
Bangalore: The main post office in Jharkhand has decided to stop selling the controversial postcards that portray Mahatma Gandhi along with former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda. Koda was charged and jailed for 4000 crore money laundering scam and other serious corruption cases. The decision was taken after fierce opposition and demonstration by Jharkhand Human Rights Conference (JHRC) and supporters of Anna Hazare. Speaking to UNI, JHRC President Manoj Mishra said they had recently bought around 4000 postcards for letter writing campaign to all MPs, seeking support for the Jan Lokpal Bill, but were shocked to see the photo of Koda with the father of the nation. "Koda has become an icon of corruption and putting his photo with Gandhi is an insult to the nation," Manoj said. After the demonstration, senior postmaster J Munda assured them in writing that such post cards would not be sold anymore, and the existing 20,000 post cards would be sent back. Despite being an independent MLA, the ex-chief minister of Jharkhand Madhu Koda is confronting several investigations, including that from Vigilance, Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax department. His election as an independent MP from Chaibasa Lok Sabha seat in the 2009 general election was also under scanner for illegal use of huge amounts of money to woo the voters.
