Bangalore: Nokia has unveiled three new applications developed on S60, the smartphone software platform on Symbian Operating System, ensuring an enhanced mobile phone user experience. With the new applications, the users can experience the Internet on their phone as smoothly as they brows on their PC. WaveSecure, Web Server and Quick Office are the new applications. WaveSecure helps a user not only track the stolen phone but also create a backup for the phone data via internet and wipe out the files to prevent them from being misused. Web Server is another application, which helps one access their mobile phone, check call logs and message inbox and send reply messages remotely via Internet. Quick Office, the third application, allows all Nokia E90 users to edit their MS Office documents from the phone itself. Mahmood Kalantar, Director, Business Development, Mobile Software, Sales and Marketing, Nokia APAC, said "We see experience converging, and people demanding more of the functionalities that smartphones offer, both of which highlight the significance of ease of use." Apart from the above said applications, Nokia has also showcased four applications developed in India, which include Mundu IM from Geodesic, SMS Scheduler and Smart Assistant Live from Aims Migital And Voice Reminder from OneView Systems. According to Mahmood, India is the hotbed of innovations and has a considerable representation in Forum Nokia, a platform where developers work on innovative applications for Nokia. S60, with 53 percent of the market share of the converged device market, is strong in both high end and midrange markets.
