NEW DELHI: Terming India as the fastest growing mobile market in the world, Nokia Chairman and CEO Jorma Ollila said he saw over 80 per cent of global mobile subscription growth coming from new growth markets like India, China, and Russia in the next five years. "New growth markets such as India, China, Russia, Indonesia and Brazil will be a key driver of our industry. We see over 80 per cent of global mobile subscription growth coming from new growth markets in the next five years and estimate that the number of mobile subscriptions can reach two billion already in 2008," Ollila said addressing a CII telecom summit in New Delhi on Thursday evening. Ollila said India is the fastest growing mobile market in the world. Globally and throughout Asia, Nokia had established Research and Development (R&D) programmes that constantly put the company on the forefront of mobile communications technology, he said, adding the strategy had enabled Nokia to offer the latest innovative solutions to customers and partners in every market in which it operated. "And India is no exception here. In Hyderabad, our R&D teams work in close co-operation with Nokia Enterprise Solutions at extending mobility to the enterprise and in Bangalore we have hardware, development and testing teams - all fully integrated with other R&D locations," he said.
