No permanent chief in IOC, ONGC from Tuesday

New Delhi: Two of India's top state-run oil and gas companies, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), will be without a permanent chief from Tuesday, with the government only giving additional charge for three months to senior officials succeeding them. Both IOC Chairman B.M. Bansal and ONGC Chairman R.S. Sharma retired Monday. The government announced that after the two chief's retirement, the next senior-most officials in the respective companies will take over for a period of three months, or till the new organisation head is announced. ONGC's Director (Onshore) A.K. Hazarika will be head the organisation for the next three months. IOC's Director (Finance) S.V. Narasimhan would head the company for three months. As per norms, Petroleum Minister S. Jaipal Reddy will have to give a green signal on the appointment of new chiefs of the two companies.
