Nasscom to fund initiatives to take IT to masses

MUMBAI: Nasscom, the apex body representing the IT software and service companies, is setting up a fund to bridge the digital divide in India and to facilitate more avenues of IT education, it said Wednesday. According to Nasscom official Saurabh Srivastava, the body would contribute 10 million to start the fund. He said that Nasscom had taken the decision based on Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde's suggestion to take computer literacy to the masses.
