Nasscom declares the winners for Innovation Award

Bangalore: As a boost to the IT confidence, global trade body Nasscom has enlisted the eight winners of the Nasscom Innovation Awards 2008. As per a Nasscom Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Innovation report, innovation will allow the Indian IT sector to tap additional revenue streams worth $50 billion by 2012. The winners comprise of firms from the different segment of IT including Aegis, Dhrithi-Soft Solutions, IndiaGames, Intel India, Kritical SecureScan, MobMe Wireless, Persistent Systems and Sloka Telecom. "We are very pleased that a large number of the winners for 2008 also, are from our emerging companies. This is the fifth year of these awards, and several of the earlier winners have considerably gained from the increased exposure and by leveraging the Nasscom Awards platform," said Som Mittal, President, Nasscom. These awards have been used as a yardstick by several Venture Capital and Private Equity firms when exploring investment opportunities. The companies were selected after a three stage process culminating in roadshows at Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi and Pune. These eight companies will be recognized and felicitated for their outstanding contribution to the Indian IT sector at the forthcoming Nasscom India Leadership Forum 2009.
