NDS opens new branch in Mumbai

Mumbai: NDS, the U.K. based digital entertainment technology firm is keeping stock of its commitment towards India and has announced the opening of a new dedicated sales and support operation in Mumbai thus strengthening its presence in India. The NDS has already an R&D facility in Bangalore for over five years, which has grown to nearly 600 employees. In a statement, Dr. Abe Peled, Chairman and CEO of NDS Group said that NDS Bangalore played a pivotal role in the making available of state-of-the-art technologies, such as advanced middleware solutions, digital video recorders (DVR) and interactive TV applications, to some of the world’s largest broadcasters. "The opening of the NDS Mumbai office, is in recognition that the Indian market itself is ready for the wide-scale deployment of digital pay-TV," he added. The company’s VideoGuard CAS is the among the most deployed conditional access technology (CAS) and is active in 66.6 million smart cards, on 42 TV platforms, in 25 countries, with services broadcast in 15 languages.
