Mphasis revenues up 33%, net profit by 28%

BANGALORE: Mphasis BFL has recorded a 33%rise in consolidated revenues at 560.56 crores for nine months ended 31 December 2004 while the net profits have increased by 28% to 93.66 crores in the same period. Group consolidated net profit was at 26.86 Crores for the quarter ended 31 December 2004 compared to a net profit of 28.50 crores in the same period a year before. However the BPO business raked in revenues of 78.48 crores for the quarted compared to 48.32 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, showing a increase of 54%. On a sequential quarter on quarter basis this represents a growth of 5 %. The BPO business currently ahs 33 active clients and 5601 staff, again an increase of 591 people. The contribution from BPO has significantly increased to about 20 % and is expected to continue in coming days. While software services revenues in the current quarter at 117.34 crores has increased by 17 % on a year on year basis, the quarter on quarter amount is marginally lower. The software employees increased by 230 this quarter to 2488. Chairman and CEO of Mphasis, Jerry Rao said 'the group has had a steady quarter with the over all staff numbers exceeding 8000 people, representing an increase of 821 in the current quarter. The BPO business continues to show steady growth and increased profitability. We have had some good client acquisition in both our IT and BPO businesses thie quarter which augurs well for the next fiscal'. During this quarter the company added 13 new clients, nine in software services and four in BPO. Software manpower utilisation rates were maintained at 71% this quarter whilst BPO utilisation rates were ar 67%. Total cash balances as on 31 Decemberincreased to 116.60 crores.
