Bangalore: "Model based testing is the suitable mode of testing these days as it raises the level of automation and increases the productivity and also helps to consolidate the requirement," said Michel Guez, Managing Director, Smartesting, a developer of software test automation solutions. He urged the companies to opt model-based testing over manual testing to master the complexity of testing. Addressing the session on 'Model-based testing technology, now a reality' at QAI's 8th Annual International Software Testing Conference (STC 2008), he pointed out that there is no denial in the crucial fact that IT systems are likely to be the key business enablers in many industries. "In addition, factors like ever rising complexity of the applications and system, constant changes requested by business people and time-to-market pressure encourage furthering industrialization of the testing activities. This however will not be achieved only with processes and document templates, but with technology also," he added. Eying at the growing Indian testing market, Smartesting began its India operation by opening a subsidiary in Bangalore two months back. The two day STC conference will go through various sections from top industry leaders, practitioners, tool vendors, product experts and senior representatives from academia, industry and government for sharing, exchanging, learning and accelerating implementation of best practices in software testing.
