Bangalore: With the number of mobile devices increasing rapidly, data subscribers have been facing quite a challenge especially since it was observed that iPhones’ Siri voice-based app enabled users to double data consumption.

Cisco recently released its annual Visual Networking Index (VNI) report, according to which 2011 saw more than double the mobile data traffic compared to the previous year, for the fourth time in a row. This means mobile data traffic grew by 133 percent just last year. The electronics and communications firm further forecasted that at this rate, worldwide mobile traffic will increase by 18 times over the next five years.
