MindTree Consulting, Analog Devices deliver DVR product platform

Bangalore: MindTree Consulting, a global IT and R&D Services company, and Analog Devices (AD) has announced the availability of a DVR product platform based on AD's Blackfin processor.
By leveraging the performance, flexibility and scalability of Blackfin, MindTree delivers a licensable DVR platform designed specifically for the surveillance market, enabling customers to get their products to market faster. The system is expandable up to 16 cameras with simultaneous recording, streaming and playback.
"Since security vulnerabilities are increasing, DVRs for the current and future surveillance need software-intensive algorithms and much more intelligence," commented Mike Haider, product line Director, General Purpose DSP, Analog Devices. "The DVR product platform from MindTree addresses this as it combines the power of Blackfin with MindTree's end-to-end product development capabilities," he added.
The MindTree DVR product platform is a futuristic surveillance solution that provides high performance processing to accommodate complex algorithms for compression, motion detection, object tracking and analytics. Driven by the dual core Blackfin AD-BF561 processor, the platform supports multi-format audio, video, voice and image processing; multi-mode base band and packet processing; control processing; and real-time security.
The flexibility built in the hardware architecture can accommodate customized hardware features, an enhanced front panel user interface and additional processors through External Bus Interface Unit (EBIU) expansion slots, ports and interfaces. Additionally, the scalable architecture provides provisioning for additional storage and IP networking features.
