Microsoft to bolster its R&D in India

Mumbai: Microsoft is planning to expand its R&D (research and development) platform. The company has also plans to strengthen its investments its research operations in India. However, John Walthall, VP Global Sales, Microsoft did not disclose the amount of investment. Already Microsoft has two centres known as Microsoft India Development Center (MIDC) in Hyderabad and Bangalore which were established in 1998 and in 2005 respectively. Every year annualy spends nearly $7 billion for product innovation and research has filed 180 patents in the last three years.
