Microsoft spends $1.7 Million persuading the government
Seattle: Microsoft spends $1.72 million which is more than $1.65 million spent in the first quarter. This was done in order to convince the federal government on technology in health care and other issues, according to a disclosure report. Microsoft is aiming to catch up with Google in web search and advertising, and to scale up the number of programs it offers that run "in the cloud" from data centers. A report says that Microsoft persuaded the federal government on legislation to incorporate cyber security, competition in online advertising, patent reform, software piracy; international trade visas for foreign workers. Microsoft has a health care division with products that help hospitals integrate data from different sources to get a clear image of a patient's health. As a software company, Microsoft is constantly going up against software pirates and companies it says infringe on its patent library. Microsoft employs more than 88,000 people around the world.
