Meru appoints Om Tiku as VP Engineering

SUNNYVALE, CA: Meru Networks Inc., which designs enterprise wireless local area networks, has appointed Om Tiku as vice president of engineering, a new position for the company. Prior to joining Meru, Tiku spent over nine years at Cisco System Inc., most recently serving as senior director of its access business unit. Before joining Cisco, Tiku was a system software manager for Norand Corp., where he managed and delivered its open wireless local area network communication system. In June, Meru Networks Inc. secured $12 million in insider Series C funding; the company has raised $42.7 million to date. Meru's cellular WLAN technology delivers voice and data over Wi-Fi for providers of fixed mobile convergence and wireless VoIP.
