Maruti registers highest monthly sales in January

New Delhi: Leading car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki registered its highest-so far monthly sales - 71,779 units - in January, it said here Monday. The company's domestic sales went up 5.6 percent to 67,005 units in January over the corresponding period last fiscal. The previous highest monthly domestic sale was 65,216 units in November 2007. Total exports in January were 4,774 units, taking the total number of vehicles sold to 71,779 units, a 5.4 percent increase over the corresponding month last fiscal. The previous highest total sale was registered in March 2007 (71,772 units.)
